I might add that it's wise to show some reservations when working with the spirit guide and blacksmiths [if you're at all like me] who have used hundreds of aether crystals and almost all my rare crafting materials just having fun with some whack Sorceror I'm jammin with my gf. Just finished the main game (except AoM expansion because I didn't fee like it and I don't have the Gods one yet) on my level 40 Commando guy and wanted to start Elite right away, but I'm getting rekt in Act 1 (that was kinda expected). On elite and ultimate you start from the beginning. Oh and just something to your build - you are too random all over the table. But now I have access to Elite difficulty.
Once in Elite the regular mobs are not too difficult, just be careful not to get swarmed. I have just beaten the 2nd expansion. so I just beat the game on normal + veteran, the game let's me change the difficulty for the character I beat the game with, but when I make a new character the Elite difficulty is still locked.
